2020 Survey Online
Dear Candidate,
Congratulations on your entry into a 2020 political race! This site if for candidates who have been referred to it from our email, candidates running for office who have been public service workers before, or those who have a former public service worker request they be considered for endorsement. Below is some information on our cause, followed by a brief survey to be considered for endorsement.
Stress Management and Recovery for public service professionals is a serious concern, as it has a huge impact on the general welfare of all, from constituents and tourists to those dedicated to the job. For many years now, 20 or more military veterans commit suicide daily. In 2018, suicide was the number one killer of Law Enforcement officers in the USA. In addition, Fire/EMS, Teachers, and other public service personnel also are at risk from burn out from physically and emotionally exhaustive jobs, as they too see chaos daily.
For every professional who dies of suicide, many in the same department often have untreated stress disorders. These professions are tough on the body and soul, and anyone in these jobs needs healthy outlets to deal with the stresses, which could include injuries on the job that required addicting pain pills. Some agencies do not offer, or bar a public service employee intentionally/officially, or not, from attending life-saving spiritual and recovery fellowships or other stress management programs.
Yet, having first-hand recovery experiences could save personnel live and positively impact the struggling addict citizens they encounter on the job. Active duty solutions could also reduce future veteran suicides & overdoses, reduce liability cases that result from over stressed staff acting incorrectly, and provide a positive outlook in the recruitment of much needed future public service workers.
